Acer Presents Their First Notebook featuring the new 64bit –AMD® Athlon™ 64 Processor

Acer, #1 in West-Europe in the notebook market, ever attentive to technological innovation, has announced a new series of All-in-One notebooks: the Acer Aspire 1500, their first notebook to use the new powerful Athlon 64bit processor recently unveiled by AMD.

Acer Aspire 1500 notebooks are intended for professionals and users in small to medium enterprises who want a powerful 64bit – hyper-transport driven notebook as an alternative to the desktop, providing a complete workstation anywhere and also appropriate for leisure and entertainment.

Acer Aspire 1500 notebooks employ an AMD Athlon 64 processor with Hypertransport™ technology, equipped with a DVD-RW (Dual standard) as well as the classic floppy disk drive. RAM memory is 512MB DDR 333, upgradeable to 2048 MB, with up to 60GB ATA-100 Hard Disk.

Acer Aspire 1500 notebooks have an Active Matrix 15” SXGA+ TFT display with a resolution of up to 1400x1050 and employ the latest ATI Radeon 9600 graphic chip with 64MB of memory, supporting both 8x AGP and Microsoft DirectX 9. DualView™ technology is featured and the MS DirectSound compatible audio system meets highest standards with two integrated stereo speakers and built-in microphone.

The 64bit processor, Hypertransport™ technology and the powerful ATI Radeon 9600 graphic chip permit Acer Aspire 1500 notebooks to perform well above the level of other notebooks and guarantee that your investment will continue to be useful in the future, already being prepared for next generation software applications.

In its Acer Aspire 1501LMi notebook Acer maintains the All-in-One structure to supply maximum power, top performance, complete multimedia functionality and easy connections in a compact solution (weighing about 3.4kg) for both professional users on the move and corporate users.

Acer Aspire 1500 notebooks offer outstanding features for connectivity today and tomorrow: an internal 56Kbps V.92 modem/fax, plus a Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000Mbps. And finally, all models permit Wireless connection based on the new IEEE 802.11g standard.

All models include a complete set of I/O ports, beginning with a parallel port, 4x USB ports, a fast infrared port (FIR), two PCMCIA type II and one type III CardBus slot, a Firewire 1394 interface for digital peripherals, an integrated 3-in-1 memory card reader and an S-video output.
