The Laboratory “Digitalization of the documentary inheritance” (Digital centre) was open on 31.10.2023, in the building of the University Library “St. Climent Ohrdski”. The Laboratory is constructed and commissioned in completion of the project BG05M2OP001-1.001-0001 “Construction and development of ultimate achievements centre “Inheritance BG”, financed under Operative Program “Science and education for intelligent growth” 2014-2020, Priority Axis 1 “Scientific research and technological development”, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)”.
The project leading coordinator, prof. Olya Harizanova, emphasized that the laboratory is a valuable acquisition for the Sofia University “St. Climent Ohridski”, in particular in regard to the 135-year anniversary of the university library. The biggest scientific library in our country, now has the chance to use a modern and reliable equipment for the digitalization of its unique library assets, and also to offer the digitalization as a service for other organizations. She expressed her gratitude to Kontrax AD in their capacity of a contractor of this public procurement for the delivery of the equipment. Prof. Harizanova wished success for the all the activities related to the provision of digital content of high quality, and encouraged the representatives of other libraries to become partners in this regard.
